Pears ripen every year. It is interesting to return to them for painting. With new ideas and tasks. Please look at the two different still lifes from two periods – 2003 and recent 2008. There are the many effects and symbols in the old work. In the new work the shape of the fruits look more whole and expressive.

Expressive contour line gives laconicism to the painting. In that work the shape of the fruits was made not with line but with the different yellow color tones, which are so delicate as to be scarcely perceptible. High-colored dark pear’s graft emphasizes a delicacy of the whole picture. Soft contours inhere in the painting of such masters as Velazquez and Rembrandt.
