...at least this time the textures are!
But the children are not real Surma children from the Omo Valley in Ethiopia, they are Raniel and Diego from our Grupo de Capoeira Contemporânea Beija-Flor in Diadema, São Paulo – Brazil, reflecting the African roots of their ancestors. Their clay painted faces were due to a cultural presentation by our children prepared especially for the community, who were present in strength to celebrate Hummingbird’s 15th Capoeira Batizado or Belt Graduation Ceremony held today at our Hummingbird Arts & Cultural Activity Centre.
